This glossary is for students or anyone who is interested in the subject. I made it so everyone could understand different expressions or words in the field of tourism.
- PAX
- noun
- In tourism and travel industry, PAX means passenger, travelers, or occupants.
- Example: In this plane it can hold 10 pax.

- Stopover
- noun
- A short stay in a place that you make while you are on a longer journey to somewhere else.
- Example: Our tickets to Australia include a stopover for two nights in Singapore.

- Travel agent
- noun
- A person engaged in selling and arranging transportation, accommodations, tours, or trips for travelers.
- Example: I made the booking through a travel agent.

- Bellhop
- noun
- Person who greets hotel guests, drives them to their room, carries their luggage on arrival and departure.
- Example: The bellhop will help you carry the suitcases to your room.

- Charter flight
- noun
- A charter flight is a private flight where you rent an aircraft for your exclusive use.
- Example: When you charter a flight, you are renting an aircraft for your own use and on your schedule.

- noun
- Person who guides and informs visitors in reputable or interesting places.
- Example: We hired an experienced guide to show us around.

- noun
- A hotel employee whose job is to assist guests by arranging tours, making reservations.
- Example: You can enlist the concierge for help in booking a table at the Grand Café or tickets to a show.

- Long haul
- noun
- A long-haul is a long-distance connection, more than 4 hours of flight, which can be done by plane, car or boat.
- Example: Driving across the country would be a long haul.

- Allotment is the number of seats contracted by an airline to a tour operator.
- Example: Depending on the case, the allotment can range from just a few seats to several hundred, or even several thousand, for the most important tour operators.
